While the band has been relatively active in recent years, with a few festival headlining shows and even releasing a solo album in 2020, it’s been 17 years since System Of A Down have released a new studio album. Drummer John Dolmayan has recently opened up about the internal conflict that has kept the acclaimed alternative metal act from releasing anything since their 2005 album Mesmerize and its successor, Hypnotize. Despite this, Dolmayan says that there are plenty of unheard songs from the group. In a bombshell interview with the podcast Sobre La Dosis, he explained that a lack of interest and inter-personal friction have been holding back the band’s recording output. | |
