Luke 21! | |
The unpardonable sin explained in scripture! This is a KJV Bible study guide. Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. (This verse tells us that blaspheming the Holy spirit of God will not be forgiven. Many ask what is this sin? Numerous verses in Luke 21, plus other places, tell us what that particular sin is. By the way, God’s spirit is not a ghost or spook). Luke 12:11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and [unto] magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: Luke 12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. [Why? For whose namesake are you delivered up?] Luke 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. [What do you use when giving a testimony for His namesake?] [That which He gives you {a mouth and wisdom}. See verse 15.] Luke 21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to [meditate before] what ye shall answer: [This verse tells you, don't meditate beforehand {premeditate}! Sounds like a warning.] Luke 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. [Why would He give you a mouth and wisdom? He wants you to say what He gives you, not what you want to say.] [See Amos 3:11, Nahum 1:2 and 1 Peter 5:8 for more about adversary, and what God has in store for them. Who is our adversary?] [Verse 12 tells when this can happen (when people get delivered up to the synagogues, that is when [the] blasphemy of the holy spirit can occur). It also tells you who it can happen to (the ones delivered up). Verses 13 and 15 tell you why it happens, which is why He gives you a mouth and wisdom. You speak a testimony for Him (Jesus) which no one can contradict, all will hear it and understand it to be truth. Verse 14 tells you don't meditate beforehand, speak only what He gives you! Sounds like a warning.] [gainsay] = Deny or contradict (a fact or statement). Speak against or oppose (someone). Who is doing the giving, teaching and deciding who gets delivered up? Jesus, through the Holy Spirit of God. Please read Ephesians 6:12 [what do we wrestle against?]. Whatever the holy spirit gives you must be the truth, because no one can deny or contradict it [gainsay]. Let the scriptures explain it to you, not a man. See Matthew 10:20, Mark 13:11 and Luke 12:12 also, for more verses on the one and only unforgivable sin. Some are worried they may have committed this sin; not so. Has anyone been delivered up yet as in Luke 21:12 above? The answer is No! Continue to study and learn my friends. | |
