Today the Kolkata market saw a price hike in Polycarbonate (PC), grade H-3000 as per the latest update from Indian Petrochem analysts based in Delhi. From Rs 174/kg on June 24, 2024 PC prices in Kolkata moved up to Rs 176/kg on June 25, 2024, registering a hike of Rs.2/Kg. Polycarbonate (PC) refers to a group of thermoplastic polymers encompassing carbonate groups in their chemical structures. Polycarbonates used in engineering are strong and tough. Some grades are optically transparent and used for polycarbonate lenses. They are easily worked, molded, and thermoformed. As PC shows excellent compatibility with certain polymers, it is widely used in blends, such as PC/ABS, PC/ PET, and PC/PMMA.
