Microneedling NYC | |
Microneedling, also called Collagen Induction Therapy, creates controlled micro-injuries to stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. The result: effective remodeling of scar tissue and overall collagen remodeling, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact. The standard treatment uses hyaluronic acid, which helps to hydrate skin. The treatment may be upgraded to include Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) (please see below), or other serums. Patients experience on average 2-7 days of downtime. The skin will appear slightly pink to red immediately post-procedure, similar to a mild to moderate sunburn. Additionally, the most common treatment responses experienced were dryness, rough skin, tightness, redness, itching, peeling, discomfort, tenderness, and burning. These conditions self-resolved over a few days without any further complications. | |
