Hello, my name is Maddox, and I am from Lebanon. I am 30 years old and have been the sole provider for my family for the past ten years, ever since my father passed away. I am responsible for my mother and four other family members. Our life has been a series of struggles, made even more difficult by the fact that I belong to a spiritual minority, similar to Buddhism. Being part of this minority has exposed me to severe discrimination and hatred from Muslims in my community. I faced mistreatment at every workplace I joined—discrimination was constant, and my coworkers treated me as if I was less than human because of my beliefs. It wasn't just individuals; even large media outlets like Al Jazeera spread hate and encouraged violence against people like me. Even before the war, life was a struggle. Poverty was a constant companion, and finding a safe workplace was nearly impossible. And now, as Lebanon is at war with Israel, our situation has grown even worse. Beirut, the city that was our only source of livelihood, has been destroyed. We have lost everything—our home, our income, our hope. We are now left in a dire situation, with no way to meet our most basic needs. I am reaching out to you for help. My family and I are in desperate need of assistance for food, rent, and other necessities to survive. Please, if you can, help us.
