The new ALMM rules lower efficiency thresholds for off-grid solar modules The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released a draft amendment to the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), proposing to lower the efficiency requirements for off-grid solar applications. This includes solar lamps, solar lights, solar street lights, solar fans, and other small-scale solar applications, except solar-powered agricultural pumps and rooftop solar systems. According to the existing ALMM framework, solar PV modules must meet minimum efficiency standards to be eligible for enlistment.
